The show had some moments that could be scary for younger children: the main character, Oli, getting arrested by a corrupt police officer; a choking which is (thankfully) interrupted; and a possible drowning. Overall it is less intense than the source material (Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens), but it is still recommended for ages 8 and up.
