Thrifty Tuesdays Coupon &

Kickoff party with DC Thrifty Mom!

Spring is almost here and I have partnered with Cartoon Cuts to offer DC Thrifty Mom followers an exclusive Thrifty Tuesday discount! Every Tuesday through May 26, enjoy a special 2 Cartoon Cuts for $28 deal with the coupon below (that’s a savings of almost $10). Just print the coupon or save paper and show it on your mobile phone.

To celebrate the start of Thrifty Tuesdays, join ME at the kickoff party on Tuesday, March 17th from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Cartoon Cuts located at 1619 Rockville Pike. There will be nail polish, removable tattoos, Peppa Pig giveaways, and one lucky person will win FREE haircuts for a year*! Only have one child, then bring a friend to take advantage of this awesome deal. Hope to see you there!

What’s Cartoon Cuts? It’s not just a salon but an entertainment destination, with one main goal—making you and your little one happy. Your child will love the waiting area, complete with video games, toys, and art tables. Have you ever had your hair washed by an elephant? No? Well, you have to try it. Ellie the Elephant is waiting at their Trunk Wash bed to get your hair clean and ready for that cut. And just wait until you get into the stylist’s chair—you get to choose from a wide selection of cartoons, movies, and games. Do you have a favorite video or movie you love to watch? Bring it with you. At Cartoon Cuts they understand how special it is to have your child’s haircut for the first time. Cartoon Cuts Review

Guest Thrifty Correspondent:

Jackie

Cartoon Cuts Giveaway Winner

I have always thought Cartoon Cuts was a genius idea. Each stylist’s station is equipped with a television showing cartoons and a few small toys to entertain and distract. It’s the kid friendly equivalent to my salon, and my stylist who hands me a gossip magazine and Diet Coke while my color sets.

One thing we could tell right from the beginning – the stylists are trained to work FAST. This is good for two reasons. The first is the faster they work, the quicker families are in and out, and anyone with a child knows how important the ‘in and out’ factor is.  The other is the faster the haircut, the less time for the child to realize he is actually GETTING a haircut.

The other thing we noticed early on – the stylists all have a calm, unflappable demeanor. While kids are around them crying and parents were snapping pictures, each stylist continues to stay focused on his or her client. Personally, if I had to work  any more than an hour in that environment,  I would have a complete toddler-style meltdown.

Cartoon Cuts - Muddling MommaWe are really lucky that so far, Mike isn’t fazed by haircuts; however, time is still a factor. We arrived right as Cartoon Cuts opened and were quickly taken back by our stylist, Phong.  Before we knew it, the TV was tuned to Thomas the Tank Engine (“Choo-Choo,” according to Mike) and he was handed a toy car. Ten minutes later Mike was handed a lollipop and we were paying for his haircut.

I tell everyone I know that Cartoon Cuts is the place to go for a kid’s haircut. Sure, it’s loud and bright and seemingly busy, but it is worth it. Thanks, DC Thrifty Mom for the gift card that ensures Mike doesn’t look like a hippie this holiday season.
