One World One Sky:

Big Bird’s Adventure

Join Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a Muppet from “Zhima Jie,” the Chinese co-production of “Sesame Street.” Together they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth. They also journey to Zhima Jie to learn about the similarities in our view of the sky.

 FREE, no online ticketing

10:30 am every Friday and Sunday, in addition to the first Saturday of each month.

Bring the whole family to the Smithsonian’s kickoff celebration of Black History Month! The day’s activities are inspired by the related exhibition (Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863, and the March on Washington, 1963) and include period musical and dramatic performances; gallery tours; video interviews by the Hirshhorn’s ARTLAB+ teen videographers; and such hands-on activities as making protest slogan buttons and a Sibley tent.
